Context
Overview
This dashboard is a visual representation of my week. I collected data based on my health, lifestyle and travel habits. I was tasked to design a minimum of 4 screens over 5 weeks.
Data Collection
My first course of action was deciding what to track throughout my week. I divided my data into 3 catagories, health, lifestyle and travel. This way each section could have its own page in the dashboard. I recorded my data everyday, using both the health app and notes I kept throughout the day.
Then I started researching different data types and which charts are most appropriate. This way I could have an idea of what graphs I could include in my design. I also had a look at different dashboards and more creative ways of data visualisation. This is where I found the work of Giorgia Lupi. It was the perfect combination of readability and creative visuals. This is something I really wanted to replicate in my own work.

Development
Then I began making a brand with colours and typography. I wanted to be precise and have a really legible design so I spent time planning my content and wireframing. I made sure to stick to a grid when translating my wireframes digitally. I debated between a couple layouts before deciding on the right one. I think this was a really important part of the process and I’m happy I spent some time getting it right.

Design
I started adding my brand and graphs to the wireframes which really brought it to life. I experimented with overlays which is something I have not tried before. I picked them up quite easily and found the prototyping process to be really enjoyable. Looking back they were a crucial part of the design and allowed me to present more specific data.

Results and Outcomes
I really enjoyed this project and challenged myself with prototyping and overlays so I could feel confident using those skills in the future, which I think it paid off. If I were to do it again, I’d spend more time organizing my data for each screen at the beginning, instead of sorting it while designing. Overall, I’m very happy with the final result, I think it showcases my week appropriately.
